A Bit About Me
Hi, I'm Jayne, and welcome to Alice Hand Therapy. I started this practice because I want the residents of Alice Springs to have access to a highly skilled, professional and friendly service. I have over 10 years experience working with and treating clients with hand and arm injuries. My goal as a therapist is to guide and support you throughout your rehabilitation, enabling you to achieve success and return to living life to the fullest.
I am an occupational therapist and a full member of the Australian Hand Therapy Association (AHTA). I am an Accredited Hand Therapist (AHT), which requires post graduate training and experience in the assessment and treatment of upper limb injuries.
Outside of work I love hiking, exploring new places and sharing good food and a glass of wine with friends and family.
What is Hand Therapy
A hand therapist is an occupational therapist or physiotherapist who has extensive experience and undertaken further study in treating conditions affecting the hand, wrist and arm. They assess, treat and provide custom made splints to help treat your injury.
Therapists work with you to improve your arm function and get you back to doing what you love.
What I Provide
Quality care and rehabilitation of the hand and wrist, so you can get on with life...
I'm proud to provide a high quality, friendly service to the Alice community.
I'm here to help guide and give you the tools you need to heal and get back to living life to the fullest.
Common conditions that I treat include sporting injuries, hand and wrist fractures, carpel tunnel syndrome, finger sprains and strains, painful wrists and hands, workplace injuries, overuse injuries, arthritis and post operative hand and wrist conditions.
What I can do to help
When you visit Alice Hand Therapy you will be provided with a comprehensive assessment of your injury or condition. I work with you to create an individualised treatment program that is achievable and realistic.
This may include exercises, strengthening, custom made splinting/orthosis, help to reduce swelling, scar management and pain management. You will leave feeling informed and armed with the tools you need to tackle your condition.
